Happy Belated Thanksgiving!
If you are 5lbs. heavier (and happier) like me, you will appreciate this post. I’ve gathered three of my favorite breakfast smoothies just in time for the post-holiday cleanse. I’m not even going to tell you what I’ve indulged in the past few days, but I’m sure you can only imagine. The only thing that will make me feel better about helping myself to three plates servings this holiday are these breakfast smoothies. Pretend like you didn’t read that. The least I can do to my body is start the day off right, and what better way to do that than with a healthful nutritional breakfast smoothie?
Below are three of my absolute favorite breakfast smoothies, all which are packed with healthful nutrients. However, I wouldn’t recommend having just a smoothie for breakfast. It’s the protein that fights off the snack cravings, so I like to drink one with a fried egg, bowl of oatmeal, or cup of Greek yogurt. Better yet, add the yogurt and dry oats to your smoothie! You can do whatever you’d like to these – add coconut water, add carrot juice, take out the celery, chia seeds, you get where I’m going.
All of these smoothies can be added in the blender at once. You’ll see in every smoothie I add pomegranate juice, which can be found in any grocery store. It’s the most powerful anti-oxidant of all fruits and I never skip out on a generous splash. After I start my blender I add water until I get the right consistency. It doesn’t get much easier than that right? Enjoy!
