About Me

Welcome to Vodka and Biscuits, a food blog occasionally featuring vodka and biscuits. I created this blog in 2012 while I was a junior in college to share simple college-friendly meals.

I live in Maryland with my husband Scott and our two dogs, Barley and Buster. Scott recently celebrated nineteen years in the Coast Guard, though he’s my full-time taste tester. My business partner and I recently celebrated the ninth anniversary of our restaurant, The Nook Cafe. You can read all about The Nook here!

Life looks a lot different from when I started this food blog – as you’d imagine, or hope, after more than a decade. There was a time where I’d prioritize posting one recipe per week, which faded into one per month, then ultimately a five year hiatus. My priorities throughout the years shifted towards our families, the business, our friends, starting a family of our own, or my hobbies like writing and crafting.

Throughout it all, I have not stopped cooking. Whether it’s a new idea for the cafe, a Friday happy hour for 20, or Mama Meals for my postpartum best friends, there is always a moment in my professional and personal life where food is in focus.

I love having the option to sneak into this cozy corner of the internet to share any, none, or all of the above with you. Being optional is what I love the most. This blog is no longer a priority in my life –  nor is content creation, Instagram posts, fun little videos, growing or maintaining followers. The goal of the advertisements is simply to pay for the costs of maintaining and securing a safe domain in a world full of bots.  The several years of recipes reflect every stage of my culinary career – and as for what to expect in the future? I guess we’ll find out together.

Thank you for visiting this special little site.
